I am now allowed to bemoan the death of the manual transmission, as I have put my money where my mouth is and purchased a brand new sedan with a manual. The E46 patiently awaits interest on Craigslist. Someone tell me what powered subwoofer to put in the trunk of this thing so I can listen to my awful trap music.

I like to think of the the Mazda Mazda3 as the poor-pratical persons BMW 3 series. I think it is about 80% of the car as a standard 3 series with none of the German shenanigans. I’ve driven the 2018 model in a 5 door variant and would consider it for a replacement for my 2006 after it disintegrates from rust.

I’m thinking of mounting an 8" (Kicker or Rockford Fosgate) to the rear deck lid in the trunk. I’ll just need to look at getting a LOC or if I should just use the speaker wires they give me and run it off the rear door speakers.

Recalling from my car audio days, I would probably get something from MTX, Kicker, JBL, Polk, or Infinity. JL, Kenwood, RF, and alpine a little bit, where too much on the side of punchy, harmonic distortion, bass boosted noise over actual clarity. That was many moons ago so I’m sure this has changed a bit. But, if you want all your neighbors to listen to Trap Mojito too, get a few of these

I did a small 8in sub in the deck of my sedan. It was a very nice, crisp, way to add some base. no need for overkill.

I was going to get one of these amp/sub combos and mount it to the underside of the rear deck lid. My E46 has a similar setup for the HK woofers.
